How to buy memecoins on BNB Chain

How to buy memecoins on BNB Chain: wallet setup, funding with BNB, buying on Four.meme's curve, PancakeSwap after migration, and the GoPlus checks to run.
Add BNB Chain to an EVM wallet, fund it with BNB for both the purchase and gas, then buy either on Four.meme's bonding curve before migration or in the PancakeSwap pool afterwards. Run a GoPlus contract check before you sign anything. The mechanics are simple; the useful part is knowing which of the two venues a given token is currently on.
Where BNB Chain sits in 2026
BNB Chain is a functioning memecoin venue and a distant third by volume. Memecoin issuance in 2026 consolidated onto Solana and Robinhood Chain; BNB retains real, ongoing activity behind them, and everything else rounds to noise.
Four.meme is the chain's principal launchpad. On DefiLlama as of 31 August 2026 it showed $4.39M TVL, 30-day fees of $388,324, 30-day revenue of $385,064 and 30-day DEX volume of $118.15M, against cumulative DEX volume of $9.905B. It ranked #7 among launchpads by TVL. The gap between the cumulative figure and the current monthly one is the story: this was a much larger venue than it is now, and it is still operating at meaningful scale rather than as a husk. It is BSC-only.
The other name worth knowing is Flap.sh, which started on BNB and has since gone multichain, showing 7-day fees of $2.68M and TVL of $1.42M on 31 August 2026 with essentially full revenue capture — it keeps its take rather than passing it through to creators. What it does and why the payout model is unusual is covered in what is Flap.sh. GraFun also appears in BNB coverage, but the sourcing we could find is Chinese-language only and we have not independently verified its scale, so treat it as unconfirmed rather than significant.
Step 1 — Set up a wallet for BNB Chain
BNB Chain is EVM-compatible, so MetaMask, Rabby, Trust Wallet, OKX Wallet and Binance Wallet all work. Most already ship BNB Chain as a preset network — check the network dropdown before adding anything manually.
If it is not present, add it as a custom network using parameters from BNB Chain's own documentation. Do not copy RPC endpoints and chain IDs out of forum posts or search-result snippets. A wrong chain ID produces a confusing failure; a malicious RPC endpoint produces a much worse one, because the node you query is the thing telling you what your balance is.
Create a dedicated trading account inside the wallet rather than trading from the account holding everything you own. EVM token approvals persist until revoked, and on a chain with as many unaudited contracts as BSC, that separation is worth more than any single check you will run.
Step 2 — Fund it with BNB
BNB is both the asset you trade with and the gas token. Withdraw BNB from an exchange to your address, selecting the BNB Smart Chain network — not BNB Beacon Chain, not a wrapped BNB on another network. Getting this wrong is the most common funding mistake and the recovery path ranges from tedious to impossible.
Leave gas headroom beyond the purchase amount. A first-time buy of a token typically costs an approval transaction plus the swap, and the eventual sell is another two. Gas on BSC is low but not zero, and holding a position you cannot afford to sell is an avoidable situation.
Do not budget from a dollar gas figure you read somewhere. Read the estimate your wallet shows at the moment you sign.
Step 3 — Buying on Four.meme before migration
Four.meme runs a bonding curve. Tokens launch on the curve, trade against it, and migrate to PancakeSwap once the threshold is reached. Creation costs the deployer roughly 0.005 BNB and the trading fee is 1%.
While a token is on the curve there is no PancakeSwap pool. You buy on Four.meme's own interface. Connect your wallet, find the token, enter an amount in BNB, and confirm. Price is a function of how much has been bought before you rather than an order book, so your buy moves your own fill price — a large order on an early curve is a materially worse trade than the quoted spot price implies.
Two things about curve buying deserve stating plainly. Most tokens never migrate at all; across venues the defensible range for the share that reach a DEX is roughly 0.5–2% depending on how the window is measured. And your position on the curve is not a position in a pool — what happens to it at migration is a mechanical detail worth understanding in advance, which we cover in how to buy a token before it graduates and what a graduation threshold actually is.
Step 4 — Buying after migration on PancakeSwap
Once a Four.meme token migrates, it trades in a PancakeSwap pool like any other BSC token, and the launchpad is no longer involved in your transaction.
Navigate to PancakeSwap by typing the address rather than following a search result. Confirm the network reads BNB Smart Chain. Paste the token's contract address into the output field — do not select by ticker from a list, because tickers are not unique and impersonation of a token currently getting attention is routine.
Set slippage explicitly rather than accepting whatever the last trade used. Then read the price impact on the review screen. On a shallow pool that number is usually larger than the swap fee and gas combined, and it is what actually determines what you receive.
Your first trade in that token will require an approval transaction before the swap. Approve a specific amount rather than an unlimited allowance where the interface allows it.
Step 5 — The checks to run before you sign
GoPlus is the standard automated contract check on EVM chains including BSC. It tests for honeypot behaviour, buy and sell taxes, live mint functions, owner privileges such as blacklisting and transfer pausing, and proxy upgradeability. It is embedded inside many screeners rather than being a destination site, so you will often meet it without going looking. TokenSniffer and honeypot.is overlap; the differences are in which token safety checker to trust.
BSC has a specific pathology worth naming: mutable transfer taxes. A contract can launch with a 1% sell tax and have the owner raise it to a level that makes selling pointless, without any transaction from you and without the token technically being a honeypot. Check whether the tax parameters are owner-modifiable, not just what they currently read. How to detect a honeypot token before you buy covers the detection methods and their limits.
Then look at supply concentration by hand. An automated check reads the contract; it does not tell you that a cluster of wallets funded from one address holds most of the float and will sell together.
Four.meme's security record
Four.meme has been exploited twice, and both incidents are documented. In February 2025 it lost roughly $183,000 through a flaw in its swap logic. In March 2025 it lost roughly $80,000 through an access-control vulnerability.
Neither was catastrophic, and the platform has continued operating at scale since. But two exploits in two months is a pattern rather than an accident, and it is the kind of thing that belongs in a decision about where to put money. Our full profile is in what is Four.meme.
What this guide doesn't tell you
It does not tell you what to buy. Nothing above predicts a price, and a token can pass every check listed here and still go to zero — which is the ordinary outcome for the category.
It also does not tell you that BNB Chain is where you should be trading. It is genuinely third by activity as of 31 August 2026, and third means thinner pools and fewer counterparties on the way out than on the two larger chains. If your reason for being on BSC is that gas is cheap, price the exit as well as the entry before you decide that is the binding constraint.
Every figure above carries the date it was verified, because they all move.
Frequently asked questions
Is Four.meme the only launchpad on BNB Chain?
No, but it is the largest by a distance. Flap.sh began on BNB before going multichain, and GraFun appears in BNB-focused coverage although we could only find Chinese-language sourcing for it and have not verified its scale. Four.meme ranked #7 among all launchpads by TVL on 31 August 2026.
What does it cost to trade on Four.meme?
Four.meme charges a 1% trading fee on the bonding curve, and token creation costs the deployer roughly 0.005 BNB. After migration you pay PancakeSwap's pool fee instead, plus gas on every transaction. Price impact on a thin pool is frequently larger than all of those combined and is not labelled as a fee.
Why did my BNB Chain sell go through but return almost nothing?
Usually a sell tax, or price impact on a shallow pool, or both. Check the contract's current tax parameters and whether the owner can change them. If the sell reverts entirely rather than returning little, that is honeypot behaviour and it is detectable before purchase.
Do I need BNB for gas if I am buying with a stablecoin?
Yes. Gas on BNB Chain is paid in BNB regardless of what asset you are swapping. Holding only stablecoins on the chain means you cannot transact at all, including selling a position you already hold.
Lock the liquidity before anyone has to trust you
Buyers on BSC run the checks above because the chain gives them reason to. If you are launching rather than buying, locked liquidity is the one claim among them that a stranger can verify without taking your word for anything. Team Finance, built by TrustSwap — which also builds Meme Central — locks LP tokens for a fixed term on BNB, Ethereum, Robinhood Chain, Polygon and Base, and the lock appears as a verified badge on the token's page in the Meme Central feed. It does not constrain a developer's own allocation, and it does nothing about a mutable sell tax, which on this chain is the check that matters most.
Nothing here is financial, legal or tax advice. Memecoins are extremely high-risk: most lose most of their value, and the majority of tokens launched never reach a decentralised exchange at all. Never spend money you cannot afford to lose entirely. Meme Central does not recommend any specific token. Data described as Meme Central's own reflects tokens indexed by Meme Central and is not whole-market data.
